Julia Medina Gaos was born in Mexico City in 1976. When she was very young she moved with her family to Ensenada, Baja California. Julia is the fourth generation of a family with important artistic roots in the etching art tradition in Mexico.
She took her first etching lessons with her grandmother, Rosa Ballester, and her mother, Guadalupe Gaos, and created her first etching pieces at the age of five years old.
She has a BA in singing at the Higher Music School of the National Institute of Fine Arts of Mexico. Today she is living at Gudalajara city where continues expanding her etching collection.
