Born in 1917 in Valencia, Spain. From a family of outstanding artists arises her creative genius. In 1939, at age 22 she arrives in Mexico  along with renown painters José Renau and Manuela his wife, rosa’s sister, with whom she learns  to draw and paint.

In 1961 she has her first contact with etching art through the Columbian engraver, Guillermo Silva Santamaría. Afterward, she pursues etching with well-known artists Mario Reyes and Vicente Gandía at Mexico City.

Rosa Ballester , participates in a great number of exhibitions in
Mexico and abroad.

Her last moments, 1988, are lived in San Miguel, Ensenada, where she created together with her daughters, Nela and Guadalupe, an etching workshop, a place where people came to enjoy her work and receive her joy and love of life.

Rosa Ballester knew how to perform large in small and delicate pieces of art.
